Cape Day 2026: A Metro Atlanta Celebration of Hope, Courage, Love, and Community

💚🧒🏽💚👦🏻💚

Friday, October 23, 2026, is Cape Day across Metro Atlanta, and families from Decatur, East Atlanta, College Park, and surrounding neighborhoods are ready to celebrate the superhero patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. These amazingly incredible kids face some of life’s scariest moments with strength, hope, and perseverance, and Cape Day is a joyful way for our community to honor each and every brave child.

Cape Day is more than a fun tradition of thirteen years and counting. It is a very powerful reminder of courage, kindness, and unity. Whether your family participates at home, at school, and/or out in the community, your cape helps lift the spirits of children who are fighting big battles we could not even imagine with superhero hearts.

Ways Your Family Can Celebrate Cape Day 2026

Make a Cape

Create your own cape and wear it proudly on this Friday, October 23rd. Your cape symbolizes support for CHOA patients and spreads joy throughout Metro Atlanta.

Get Creative with Coloring Sheets

Kids can color, decorate, and display Cape Day artwork to celebrate bravery and brighten someone’s day. Display them around the house for added joy.

Spread the Spirit Everywhere

Cape Day is meaningful wherever you celebrate. Families can participate:

  • At home with crafts, capes and photos
  • At school with classroom activities and spirit days
  • In the community with neighborhood walks, park meetups and family fun

Every cape worn across Metro Atlanta sends love to children who need encouragement and strength.

📸 Share Your Cape Day Joy

Families across Metro Atlanta are invited to share photos and videos of their capes, crafts, and celebrations. Your posts help raise awareness and show CHOA patients how much our community cares. Please use these hashtags, and I will share your photos on our editions as well. #CapeDayATL #MacKIDMetroAtlanta #MacKIDEastAtl #MacKIDDecatur #MacKIDCEJ
